Merlene Frazer, a Jamaican 4x100m Olympic silver medalist from the 2000 Sydney Games, has been a consistent performer in sprinting from her junior years, winning multiple medals at the CARIFTA Games and World Junior Championships. A standout in college, she won the 200m at the 1994 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships and two indoor titles. Frazer’s impressive World Championships career includes five medals: gold in the 4x100m (1991), silver (1997), and bronze in the 200m and 4x100m (1999), along with another bronze in the 4x100m (2001). Known for her speed and versatility, she made significant contributions to Jamaica’s success on the global stage.
